This wine comes from the old head-pruned vineyards in Alexander and Dry Creek valleys farmed by the multi-generational Passalacqua and Saini families for Seghesio. The older vines devigorized root system produces less, yet more intense, fruit highlighting Zinfandel’s briary spice characteristic.

Bold and spicy with rich, briary fruit, our Old Vine Zinfandel showcases the complexity and intensity that only truly old vines can yield. For us, “Old Vine” means that the vines are at least 50 years old, and we source grapes for this wine from exceptional vineyards that are closer to 75 years old on average.

The 2023 Old Vine Zinfandel exudes classic briar patch aromas, with red raspberry, blackberry, and black cherry interwoven with hints of baking spice. On the palate, juicy, mouthwatering acidity complements the lush midpalate, leading to a smooth, well-integrated finish.
